Nuevamente Una Mano Amiga cumplió con uno de los objetivos para la que fue fundada.
El objetivo cumplido es el de dar a conocer a las otras culturas de el estado de Utah, la cultura del pueblo Latino/Hispano.
Una Mano Amiga y sus colaboradores creen que al conocer las culturas con las que convivimos, entenderemos sus ideas y existirá más armonía entre los que habitamos este gran estado.
Es con mayor alegría y orgullo que también anunciamos la publicación del libro titulado “Celebremos el Dia de los Muertos”.
Este libro nos ayuda a entender el significado de las ceremonias, ritos y símbolos que estan relacionados con el Dia de los Muertos. Se ha publicado en ingles y español, para que este al alcance de todos.
Por tercer año consecutivo se llevo a cabo la celebracion del Dia de los Muertos en el Centro multicultural de West Valley City.
La ceremonia tuvo lugar el dia 4 de Noviembre y la exhibición duro hasta el 26 de Noviembre. Aproximadamente visitaron la exhibición 3,500 personas de todos los grupos etnicos del estado.
Once again “Una Mano Amiga” accomplished one of its goals. The goal is to share the Hispanic/Latino cultural values. We believe that getting to know each other, will make us understand and appreciate their culture.
Therefore we proudly present the first edition of the book “Celebrating the day of the Dead”. This book explains the ceremonies and the meaning of the objects utilized to celebrate this day, this is a publication in both Spanish and English.
The third year in a row we celebrated the Day of the Dead at the Multicultural Center in West Valley City.
The Ceremony took place on Nov 4th, and the exhibit lasted thru Nov 26th.
There were about 3,500 visitors.
Parte de nuestros esfuerzos por mantener nuestros valores culturales, se utilizan para la participación de Una Mano Amiga en el “Festival de Arboles de Navidad.
Este año gracias a la generosa donación de un arbol navideño de el señor Jorge Escalante de Salt Lake City, fue posible participar en este evento multicultural.
El Arbol de la Esperanza, como se llamo la participacion de UMA, fue decorado con la valiosa colaboracion de Rocio, Ivonne, Stella y Carmela.
El Arbol de la Esperanza fue donado para una subasta y las ganancias se destinaron al Hospital Primary Children de Salt Lake City.
El arbol fue para recordar a los niños Bryant Segura y Emmanuel Contreras.
Our efforts to maintain our culture were aimed to participate in the Festival of Trees. Thanks to Jorge Escalante who donated a Christmas tree, was possible to participate. UMA volunteers and Director decorated the tree. Which was auctioned and the proceeds donated to Primary Children’s Hospital.
The tree was also to honor the memory of Bryant Segura and Emmanuel Contreras

The tree is to commemorate the short life of Bryant Michael Segura and Emmanuel Contreras Mora. Also to express the hope that we as adults have in the future generations,
We would like to express our gratitude to the children’s Hospital for taking care of our children, regardless of race or national origin.
